Residing on an Internet-connected television device, the UpdateTV Agent will check each day for software updates available through the Internet (using Ethernet or Wi-Fi connection). The solution leverages any of several standard connectivity protocols, including DOCSIS, TCP/IP, or others.

If an update is available, the UpdateTV Agent uses the fastest connection available to download that update – whether that’s via Internet, in-band cable, or terrestrial signal. Only one UpdateTV Agent is required for all update methods using the same decryption and installation methods for any update.

UpdateTV can proactively update software for any digital device that is connected to the Internet such as a DVDr, PVR, DVR, and Digital Television (DTV) set.
